このページの最後に、冒頭部ベタ打ちしたものを貼っておきますね。

メモ程度で申し訳ないのですが、会話がわかりやすくて、ヒアリングの練習にもよさそうですよ。こんな感じなら、英語が不慣れでも練習素材にできそうですよね。(ベタ打ちすぎてみづらいですね(^-^;

と言いました。
そのお題は、こちらです↓

I was wondering if you could give us 3 adjectives to describe younger you? And 3 to describe “now you”?

「若い時の自分を3つの形容詞で表現するとしたら? そして、今の自分については?」

この質問、いいですよね。

なんか、使えそう(ワクワク)

動画では11:34頃からです。

Chika: So I was wondering if you could give us 3 adjectives to describe younger you?
Will Smith: Younger me..
Chika: and 3 to describe “now you” .
Will Smith: Whoo.. okay, so the 3 to describe younger me…
One, let’s go “naive”. (世間知らず) “fearless”(怖いもの知らず) “ambitious”(野心的かつ意欲的)
Chika: How has that changed? There can be overlap.
Will Smith: Yeah, there’s some overlap. Are you gonna put the words on the screen?
Chika: Yeah.
Will Smith: Should I show where they are?
NAÏVE
AEMBITIOUS
And the older me…PEACEFUL ,JOYFUL, let me see…(そうだなぁ、)
Chika: That’s pretty hard , huh?
Will Smith: No. Because I have one that I want to say,,, but it doesn’t feel like it.. Because I feel like I’ve become wise. But I’m wise enough to know I’m not wise.(でも賢くなったからこそ、「賢い」とは言えないしw)
Chika: Wiser.
Will Smith: Yes, wiser. PEACEFUL , JOYFUL, WISER

哲学的ですねぇ。。。

私もちょっとひねりをいれて 子供たちとこのクイズしようと目論見中♪

Chika: Hey guys, it’s Chika!
So I am at the YouTube Space Tokyo today.
And I have a very very very special guest!
Chika: Oh my Gosh! We made a little video.
Yes, we had fun.
That was wonderful.
Will Smith: This was my first time in the YouTube space and you took really good care of me here.
Chika: I wanted you to experience a little Japanese-y ness.
Will Smith: I love it. Love it. Love it!
Chika: Thank you so much. And hope you guys check it out. And don’t forget to give us a like at the end of the video and subscribe!
Chika: Oh,my Gosh! Wooa
[Let’s get started!]?
Well, welcome!

Will Smith: Are we gonna learn how to make sushi for real or we just going to eat something?
Chika: Both.
Will Smith: And you know how to make it? You’ve taken a class before?
Chika:    *** home style!
Will Smith: Home style! Okay.
C: That means you don’t know how to make it. We’re gonna sit here.
Will Smith: We’re going to sit here. We’re rolling, everyone!
C: Let’s ***  .I’m not used to this!
Will Smith:I know. We’re ready. Okay? Yes!
C:**
W: Did you have lunch? I did not. This is gonna be my lunch.
C: Okay. Good!
So I hope you’re really ready to teach me for real.
C: I was born ready !
Will Smith:You stay ready, so you don’t have to get ready.

[GET READY]1:20
C: I know you’ve probably had sushi before.
Will Smith:Yes.
C: You’ve been in Japan.
Will Smith:Quite a few times, yes. Yes. I’ve never actually made any before. I’ve never made my own.
C: That’s what I figured. Since I don’t know how to make a real sushi. I thought we could do a home style sushi, which is actually Will Smith:something we do quite a lot with your family. And so I’m going to bring out some stuff.
Should I help? Oh, here it comes, here it comes!
C: Oh, don’t look it. Don’t look!
Will Smith:I’m blocking my eyes…  Whoo, yes!
C: Have you seen sushi like this before?
Will Smith:I’ve never seen it in this fashion before…I’ve never seen it in this fashion before ..the unprepared state.
C: So we got rice
Will Smith:Yes!
C: Vinegared rice and we have also seaweed.
Will Smith:Oh, seaweed.  Okay, so it would be like hand wraps.
C: Hand-rolled sushi.
Will Smith:Hand-rolled sushi. Yes!
C: And there’s not much to teach, really.
Will Smith:No! There is a special technique to it.
C: alright. Get started.
Will Smith:So what do you do?
C: Here’s some seaweed for you. Is this what it is… like for you when you’re making movies having…
Will Smith:All right Yes,that
C: I want to show my audience what’s going on right here because I’m usually in my room filming by myself.
Will Smith:Plus, about 50 more people on the set when you’re making a movie and then 400 more outside and then another ,you know, 250 in the office. There’s a lot of people when you’re making a movie.
C: So the population density in Tokyo doesn’t bother you that much.
Will Smith:No, not at all.
C: Alright, so now we’re going to take some rice,
Will Smith:Okay , so we think of sushi in the United States as Japanese food. Is it like that, or is it a delicacy or is it just every day, the normal diet?
C: I mean, it’s a major part of our cuisine. But different forms. So when you go to a really nice sushi restaurant you can talk because you have to be really quiet eating. That kind of stuff. Then you have the more casual, the merry-go-round sushi.
Yeah,yeah,yeah.
C: So I think we present it in different ways so everyone can enjou it. And this one’s kind of the one you would make it at home. The fun thing about making sushi at home is that you can play around with the ingredients. Like this is beef. Like you wouldn’t normally put beef. And that’s natto.
Natto?
3:27 C: Yeah. Have you ever..?
Will Smith:No. What’s natto?
C: It’s fermented soybeans.
Will Smith:Yeah, but it’s not though!
C: I don’t know how I’m gonna translate that, actually.
3:36
So I think we present it in different ways
